Zumba & Pilates

Hi I’m Julie and I currently teach the latest fitness craze Zumba and Pilates classes every Monday and Wednesday morning at St Paul’s. We have a true community feel to the classes which are fun and friendly. All abilities are welcome and you don’t have to book, just turn up.

Romiley Operatic Society

Are you interested in singing, acting, dancing or do your talents lie “back stage” – costumes, props, lighting, sound, stage management. If so, then why not come and join us? We normally put on one production a year at the Plaza Theatre in Stockport and we endeavour to present varied shows at a high standard.

 The Parent and Toddler Group is held in the Parish Hall each Monday during term time at 1.15pm.

Ladies Badminton Club

We are a small group of ladies who meet every Thursday morning (except through August) to enjoy each others company and a game of badminton.

We meet from 9.00am to 11.30am.

Marple Bridge & Mellor University of the Third Age

The Marple Bridge and Mellor University of the Third Age (U3A) is affiliated to the Third Age Trust which is a national association of retired people who have a common interest in continued creativity and enquiry.

There are other branches of U3A at Romiley, Marple and High Lane. The Marple Bridge & Mellor U3A meets at St Paul’s Church Hall on the third Tuesday of each month when a speaker or other social activities take place.

Coffee is served from 10.00am with the meeting starting at 10.20am. An attendance fee is £1.00 for members and £1.50 for visitors.

We have approximately 36 interest groups, ranging from gardening, walking to antiques and reading club. The groups are led by members who have a particular interest and expertise in that activity.

Stage Struck Speech & Drama

Stage Struck Speech and Drama was established in 1999 and provides Speech and Drama lessons for children aged between 4 & 18 years. The purpose of the lessons is to grow a child’s confidence in a happy and encouraging environment.

We do this through voice work , improvisation skills, drama games, mime and movement.

We also offer the options of our own LAMDA examination centre and entrance into local festivals. We put on whole school productions for charity and arrange theatre trips.

Our teachers are qualified, experienced and CRB checked. We provide lessons in Compstall, Marple and Bramhall.

Come and join the line dancers in the parish hall on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 10.00pm

Gentle exercise with lots of fun.

Rhythm & Rhyme

Puppets, songs, dance, parachute play, instruments, bubbles and balls all contained in each session.

Laughing and learning in Manchester and Stockport for over a decade.

Approved by MCC Education service.

Sessions are designed to support the early years/foundation stage profile.
